As soon as you have a date and venue: book
Good makeup artists are booked months ahead, especially for Saturdays in spring and summer. Once your date and venue are confirmed, request quotes. With my booking form, your quote, including travel to your venue, is created instantly. A 50% deposit secures your date, and dates are booked on a first-paid, first-served basis.
8 weeks before: finalise numbers
Confirm how many bridesmaids, moms and guests need makeup and hair. Final numbers need to be confirmed at least 8 weeks before the wedding, and the remaining balance is due by then too. For bookings made within 8 weeks of the date, full payment is required upfront.
About 4 weeks before: your trial
Trials happen at my studio in Mooikloof, Tuesday to Thursday, about four weeks before the wedding. Bring photos of your dress, inspiration looks and anything you know you dislike. Wear a white or neutral top so we can judge the look properly, and take photos in daylight afterwards.
2 weeks before: facials and treatments
Schedule facials at least two weeks before your wedding so your skin can settle if it reacts or purges. Avoid trying new skincare in the final weeks.
The week of the wedding
Exfoliate gently to create a smooth base, hydrate well and get enough sleep. Dermaplaning a few days before is an optional extra that leaves an ultra-smooth finish. Apply a rich moisturiser the night before and the morning of.
The wedding morning
Plan makeup time backwards from when the bride needs to be ready, and allow extra time for the bridal party. Have a clean face, hair done or ready to be done, and a button-up top on so you can change without touching your makeup. See my bridal makeup services to start planning.
